چکیده
Silicon (Si) fertilization provides benefits to sugarcane. However, information remain scarce about the relationship between Si fertilization, gas exchange responses, biomass and silicophytolith accumulation in contrasting drought tolerant sugarcane cultivars under well-watered conditions Sugarcane (drought-tolerant drought-sensitive) were grown pots containing soil with low available treated (at rates equivalent 0, 250, 500, 750, 1000 kg ha−1 Si) as silicate. The contents, morphotype descriptions, concentrations evaluated top visible dewlap leaves. Stalk length stalk also evaluated. silicophytolith, net CO2 assimilation rate (A), plant transpiration (E), stomatal conductance (gs) electron transport (ETR) of leaves fresh stalks increased linearly functions application rate, independent cultivar. RB86-7515 showed highest length, green leaf biomass, relative water content, potential, while RB85-5536 superior values for A, E, gs, ETR. improved photosynthesis, transpiration, production content was reflected a diversity silicified cells, which may favor higher photosynthesis biomass. increase silicification stomata complexes trichomes be associated availability transpiration. Contrasting drought-tolerant similar responses Si. Considering these benefits, should included program

Regulation of grain yield in rice under well-watered and drought stress conditions by GUDK
Increasing the grain yield of cereals, which is stable under unfavorable environmental stress, is a major objective to sustain production and feed the growing world population. Recently, we functionally characterized a receptor-like cytoplasmic kinase, named GROWTH UNDER DROUGHT KINASE (GUDK), revealing its role in regulating grain yield under well-watered and drought stress conditions by trans...
متن کاملDiurnal Variations of Gas Exchange Characteristics in Leaves of Anise Hyssop (Agastache foeniculum) under Normal, Drought Stress and Recovery Conditions
Net photosynthesis rate (Pn), stomatal conductance (gs) and transpiration rate (E) of anise hyssop were measured during the four cloudless days, in reference to diurnal fluctuations of leaf temperature (Tleaf), leaf vapor pressure deficit (VPD leaf) and photosynthetic photon flux density (PPFD) in well watered (WW), stressed (S) and recovered (R) plants. An analysis of measured data showed tha...
متن کاملEffect on Quality Characteristics of Tomatoes Grown Under Well-Watered and Drought Stress Conditions
Tomatoes are one of the most nutritionally and economically important crops in New Zealand and around the world. Tomatoes require large amounts of water to grow well and are adversely affected by drought stress. However, few studies have evaluated the physicochemical characteristics of commercial tomatoes grown under water stress conditions. Four tomato cultivars (Incas, Marmande, Scoresby Dwar...

متن کاملYield and growth characteristics of sunflower cultivars inoculated by arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi under drought tension conditions
One of the new methods for optimum management and increasing the efficiency of water resources utilization in agricultural uses is the use of irrigation methods. Considering the importance of this issue, this research was carried out to determine the effect of mycorrhizal fungi on the yield of sunflower cultivars under drought tension conditions and as split split plots based on randomized comp...
